You could also try the patched ROM on a PC emulator to verify if it's your file or the Miyoo that's at fault. In case you're still having trouble, I'd suggest using Luna IPS 1.02 to apply the patch (after checking the file hash) and running it on latest Onion since that's my setup which is working for this specific patch. Once it's installed you can right-click the ROM file in Windows explorer and use the 7-Zip menu to see and copy the hash. I use 7-Zip to find the CRC32 of my files. If it doesn't match, it's likely that the patch will make the ROM unusable. So if your ROM file has the same 'ID' as what the patch lists, you have the correct file and can go ahead with the patch. If you haven't come across hashes before, they're a way to verify that two files have exactly the same content by generating an 'ID' of sorts. The key is to check the rom information section of the page and match one of the hashes, such as the CRC32 against your file. The differences between V1.0 and V1.2 is too great for the Virtual Console container to recognize. I've patched this ROM (and several others) and they work fine on the mini. The actual raw rom for Super Mario Land 2 is ' DMGMQE-2.680 ', which has the checksum CRC32 of '635A9112' or ' Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins (UE) (V1.2).
